Key Note: You might not have all the information right away, and that's okay. You can update your profile as your business grows and as you obtain more details.
Checklist Before You Start
Have your legal business name if you have registered with the IRS.
Know your DBA (Doing Business As) if you use one.
Have your business email, phone number, and website domain (if available).
Step-by-Step Guide
Access Business Profile Settings:
On the CRM dashboard, go to the left-hand navigation menu.
Scroll down and click on "Settings", then select "Business Profile".
Update Business and Legal Names:
Enter your friendly business name or DBA in the appropriate field.
Input your legal business name exactly as registered with the IRS.
Input Contact Information and Website Domain:
Fill in your business email and phone number. You can use your personal email and phone number if you do not have this yet.
Add your website domain, if you have one.
Select Your Business Niche:
Choose the niche that best describes your services, like "Notary Public".
Handling Errors:
If you encounter an error, especially related to setting up a custom domain (like a CNAME record issue), you can temporarily remove the domain and address it later in a more advanced setup lesson.
Note on Legal and Business Advice
We don't offer business or legal advice, including matters related to EIN, DBA, and business registrations. For these topics, please consult a professional in business or legal fields.
When to Update Your Information
You might not have all the details right now, and that's perfectly fine. It's common for users to come back and update their information as their business evolves or as they acquire new details.
Ensure any information you add is accurate and matches your official business documents to maintain consistency and professionalism.
This lesson is a foundational step in setting up your Notary Success CRM business profile, ensuring that your notary services are accurately represented and easily identifiable by clients. Remember, you can always come back to update your profile as your business grows and changes.
